A LITTLE ABOUT JANE…
Raised on a farm in New Zealand on the North Island’s East Coast, in a region known as the fruit bowl of New Zealand, with access to an abundance of home and locally grown fresh produce, I learnt at an early age about the origins of food. Meat was sourced from the farm, fish and shellfish was regularly caught in rock pools or at sea and vegetables were harvested from the garden. Later, living and travelling in different parts of the world, I developed and expanded my interest in preparing and sharing good food.
Using skills, gained through many years of cooking, both everyday family meals and entertaining around our treasured French Provincial table, my vision for At Jane’s Table is to assist young people in exploring and developing a knowledge of healthy ingredients and locally produced, seasonal produce. By teaching simple cooking skills, I will guide students, in a relaxed and homely environment, to prepare, cook and present simple, healthy and delicious food to share.
